She Who Devours
She felt a hunger. Not an ordinary one—an ancient one, deep within, impossible to satisfy with food or human warmth. She went to her lover, hoping that sex would at least briefly appease this call. But when it was over, the emptiness inside only grew stronger. Then her true nature awakened. In one movement, she consumed him. Her belly rounded slightly, but the feeling of hunger did not disappear. She moved on. The second lover also proved powerless to satisfy the ancient hunger. And he suffered the same fate. Her belly became noticeably larger, heavier, as if something alive were stirring within. The third was the last. After him, the hunger finally began to subside. She felt a pleasant heaviness, and her huge, full belly became a symbol of long-awaited satiation. She slowly walked out into the evening street. She reached an old park, carefully lowered herself onto a bench, and placed her palms on her large belly. For the first time in a long time, silence reigned within. The wind rustled the leaves, the sun slowly sank below the horizon, and she closed her eyes and allowed herself to savor this rare moment of peace. But somewhere deep within, a new, subtle hunger was already beginning to brew.
