The Author's Assistant (4K) - Cadence Lux
Cadence is an assistant to a successful author. She types up his manuscripts, applies edits as needed, and generally manages the nuts and bolts of his small business. As she nears the end of his latest manuscript, she mentions for the first time that she herself, inspired by his work, has written a novel of her own. She asks if he would look it over and give her advice on how to improve it and make it publisher-worthy. She is aware that he is inundated with requests from wannabe authors and he almost almost declines to help, mainly because he would have no time to work on his own books if he was constantly advising others on their efforts. He is reluctant to have a look at Cadence's manuscript in case she objects to any criticism, perhaps ending their amicable working relationship. She looks disappointed, so he proposed a deal: He has always fantasized about her working in his office naked, and suggests that if she will undress in front of him and then finish the current edits naked, he will agree to review her manuscript. Cadence is surprised, embarrassed, and also concerned that this might alter their work dynamic in a negative way, but she badly wants his feedback on her book, so rather shyly, she agrees to his terms.
