Sahrye Tests a Lifting Bag Using Her Breath (MP4 - 720p)
Sahrye has been tasked with testing a lifting bag that is designed for jacking up a car under off-road conditions, using its engine exhaust pressure. At least one "strongman" has appeared on television on several occasions lifting one corner of a car with his breath, prompting us to examine the pressure that might be required for such a trick. In our scaled test, two road cases weighting 365 pounds each (730 pounds together) are strapped together, and used to stand in for one quarter of a 2900-pound compact car. When she first hears of being asked to lift 730 pounds, Sahrye is skeptical to say the least. She remembers having been asked to do seemingly impossible things before, and almost always succeeding at them. But she also remembers how many days her cheeks were sore in the aftermath. But of course she agrees, and so we're off to find out how much pressure is needed to lift 730 pounds using a lifting bag of this size. Any guesses?
