I recently got back from the doctors because of my frequent chest pains, and they have diagnosed me with mild emphysema.They wrote me a prescription for an emergency asthma inhaler and a portable oxygen tank for the napping, in the morning, and whenever I have chest pains. This is what smoking has done to me and it is strange that someone as young as me already has a destroyed lungs but I am a heavy smoker and I knew this day would come.

I explained I ma a heavy smoker to the doctor and they understood I cannot quit. They also prescribed a heavy does nicotine patch that I have to wear all day and advised me not to smoke more then 20 cigarettes per day, which makes me worried I wont be able to do that.I also explain how its difficult to take off the oxygen to smoke, but how much I need the oxygen after I finish smoking. I also hope that the oxygen treatments will help with my asthma allowing me to walk easier without running out of breath.The doctor also said I must use oxygen now when I do any sort of physical activity.
