The Inevitable Blue - Lalo Cortez
Lalo just couldn't resist. He was hooked on the intensely sweet taste of blueberry bubblegum. He kept chewing one after another until something weird started to happen. The first sign came from below: the soles of his feet turned a deep blue, like he’d been stepping in fresh paint.
The color quickly climbed up his legs, but it wasn't just the color that was changing. His stomach started to rumble and expand, stretching his T-shirt as it filled up with a thick, sweet liquid. He could feel the blueberry juice bubbling inside him, turning his torso into a heavy, perfect sphere. His cheeks puffed out, rounding his face until his eyes looked like tiny beads stuck in a blue-violet mask.
Lalo’s skin, now stretched to the limit and shiny, turned completely blue. His arms and legs started to get sucked into the rounded mass of his body. Within minutes, Lalo wasn't human anymore; he was a giant blueberry—a massive, pulsing fruit, filled to the brim with the juice of his own addiction.
