Two pairs of Buffalo shoes. Two very different fates.
In the first act, I wear my pristine black patent Buffalos. Every step is elegance. Every camera angle reveals how glossy they shine while my white socks peek out playfully. These shoes are for those who know how to appreciate class. They’ve walked through special places and passed by special people.
But then, the twist.
I take them off. Gently. Slowly. As if to honor their beauty. And then I reach for their opposite. The white patent Buffalos. Damaged. Used. Dirty. Their inside tells stories of what they’ve endured. I slide my clean socks into them and the transformation begins.
With every step, my soles pick up more dirt. My socks turn from innocent white into used grey. I take the shoes off again. I show what they’ve done to me. What I’ve done to them. I push them ahead of me. I trample them. I walk barefoot for a while, let the cold ground mark my skin. Then I slip back in and the cycle continues.

Ich ziehe sie aus. Sanft. Langsam. Als würde ich sie verabschieden. Dann greife ich nach ihrem Gegenteil. Den weißen Lack-Buffalos. Abgetragen. Misshandelt. Dreckig. Ihr Inneres erzählt Geschichten, man nicht vergisst. Ich schlüpfe mit meinen noch sauberen Socken hinein. Und dann beginnt Veränderung.
Mit jedem Schritt werden meine Fußsohlen dunkler. Socken färben sich von Weiß zu einem grauen Versprechen. Ich ziehe Schuhe aus, zeige sie dir. Zeige, was sie aus mir gemacht haben. Zeige, was ich aus ihnen mache. Ich schiebe sie vor mir her, trete auf sie, gehe barfuß. Der Boden wird mein Verbündeter, mein Werkzeug. Und dann schlüpfe ich wieder hinein.
