You Really Thought You Were Enough?
I just got back from the concert… and I still have that smile on my face.
You know what? It was incredible. I had such a good time. I danced, I enjoyed myself, I met people… and honestly, I barely thought about you. In fact, I think I had a much better time without you.
And then I met a man.
A man who immediately managed to do something you struggle so much with: get my attention. He was confident, interesting, spontaneous… he had a presence that you simply don’t have.
We talked, we got closer, and I ended up having a night I definitely wouldn’t have had if I’d gone with you.
And no, I don’t feel guilty.
The funniest part is that while you were sitting here waiting for me, I was out there discovering just how easy it is to find someone who makes me feel much more desired.
Did you really think you were enough for me?
How adorable.
Maybe I should have kept all of this to myself and left you in peace. But I love the idea of you sitting there listening to me while you slowly realize that you’re not nearly as important as you thought you were.
Because now I know something I didn’t want to admit before: I can go out without you, have fun without you, meet other men… and come home perfectly happy.
And you’ll still be here.
Waiting for me.
Listening to me.
Imagining everything I did while you weren’t there.
And the best part is that you know perfectly well that if I go out again tomorrow, I’ll probably have an amazing time without you all over again.
So don’t be sad.
Just accept your place.
Tonight, I had fun.
You waited.
And I think we both know who came out on top.
