Old Clothes, New Fat
Spring is coming. So I started going through my closet, deciding what to donate and what I'm still too sentimental to let go of. I'm still hanging onto so many outfits I'll never be able to fit into again.
I decided to try them on one last time, and relive the memory of when they still fit. Complete with side-by-side comparisons from old photos. Same clothes, same pose - totally different body.
Some of them don’t even make it past my thighs. Some of them technically fit now, but they don't flatter like they used to. They're tight in places they never were before.
But still, I reminisce about what these clothes have meant to me and how much I took my fit body for granted. Even when I was skinny, I was so self-conscious- always hiding, always afraid to show off. All that potential, wasted. Maybe I should have enjoyed it while it lasted.
