Barbell Lift Struggle (WMV 1080)
We’re in the gym and I hear someone grunting. I turn around to see what’s going on and you’re behind me lifting weights.
“Oh my god, is that all you can lift?!” I have never seen a man lift so light. Aren’t men meant to be stronger than women?! How embarrassing for you!”
I rudely laugh at you and proceed to tell you how weak you are in front of everyone in the gym, completely humiliating you. I’m a woman and I can lift way more than that! I vow to put you to shame by showing you by lifting my 30kg barbell.
What I don’t realise though is that you have special powers that only come out when you’re angry and in a fit of rage. You’re furious that I humiliated you like that so you retaliate by putting a spell on me that makes me instantly weak. That’ll teach me!
I arrogantly go to lift up the barbell, confident as ever but I can’t seem to lift it. I try again but it won’t budge. I give it one more try and reality starts to sink in that I can’t lift it….
I try not to look phased as I start to lift with all my strength. I start to grunt and groan as I give it all my energy but I just cannot lift it!
“I could lift this a minute ago, what on earth is happening?!”
I won’t give up. I will lift the barbell! I keep trying. I’m bending over in all different positions, loudly grunting, groaning and moaning, louder than ever as I struggle to lift it. I start to get embarrassed as I realise I’m totally humiliating myself as everyone watches on.
I start to get out of breath, crouched down on the floor, panting, red in the face but I keep trying. Eventually, I give up. Completely mortified and I have no idea what just happened to me. I can’t believe this just happened and I’m so ashamed that I’ll never be able to show my face in this gym again.
