THE PRISONERS CORRECTIVE CANING
This prisoner is failing to understand the purpose of the correction facility. He has already received one of his multiple punishments, yet it was clearly not enough to produce genuine remorse for his crimes. So here he is again — bent over the bench, his arse already pink and swollen, ready for round two.
This time the punishment will be harsher. This time I take the cane. The perfect tool for true pain. A real, deep sting.
Once again the prisoner is given the chance to decide how many strikes he will receive. In the last session he chose twenty with the leather strap. This time he goes higher and offers twenty-five. I go higher still, and set the true sentence at seventy-five. I can only imagine the thoughts now racing through his mind. Can he handle that many? I sincerely hope not. I want him broken.
I waste no time.
Feet planted firmly, body poised, I deliver the first stroke. The sharp, clean crack of cane against skin fills the room. The second follows quickly. He moans through clenched teeth, still trying to stay strong.
Strike after strike lands with precision. Each one leaves a fresh, raised mark, making the already tender flesh more sensitive, more vulnerable to the next impact. The longer it continues, the deeper the pain sinks.
His first brief respite comes at ten. The relief on his face is obvious — and short-lived. The next fifteen arrive hard and fast, the cane snapping against his skin with increasing severity. Bruising begins to bloom. The marks darken and spread, becoming impossible to ignore.
Twenty-five strikes completed — the number he originally suggested. That was the easy part.
Now comes the real question: how many more will I give him before he finally breaks?
