No room for the tiny ones - Joao Alves
He is alone at home, searching for his phone. He walks down the hallway and steps into the living room expecting everything to be exactly as he left it. Instead, something unusual catches his attention on the floor. Small constructions are scattered across it. Tiny houses. Fragile structures. Clear signs that his space has been occupied. A silent invasion has taken over his territory.
His expression changes immediately. There is no curiosity, only irritation. The living room is his. The floor belongs to him. Every inch of that space is under his control. The idea of miniature intruders building their existence across his ground is unacceptable.
He takes the first step without hesitation. The sole of his bare foot comes down firmly over one of the small houses, crushing it beneath his weight. Another follows. He walks across the room slowly, deliberately, as if simply crossing his own space, yet with every movement something disappears under him. Houses collapse. Small objects vanish. Little figures are pressed flat against the floor.
Looking down, he recognizes the extreme contrast in size. They are insignificant compared to him. Small enough to fit beneath a single stride. Too fragile to resist. His normal pace alone becomes punishment.
One of them catches his attention. He bends down and lifts it easily between his fingers, the size difference impossible to ignore. He brings it close to his body, holding it there just long enough to show how completely it can be controlled. Then he lets it go, as if it were nothing more than a passing distraction.
He continues walking.
Each step reasserts ownership. Each movement erases another piece of the miniature occupation. The room slowly returns to emptiness. By the end, there is no city left, no houses, no trace that anything ever dared to exist on his floor. Only him, barefoot, dominant, standing alone in the space that belongs entirely to him.
