From Heartbroken to Heartbreaker
I find myself in front of his door, the same one that closed behind me with a dull thud a year ago, leaving me with the weight of words that hurt more than a slap: "I'm no longer attracted to your bones, you have no shape, you seem fragile."
For months, those words were my poison, then they became my FUEL.
I take a deep breath, feeling my lungs expand against the fabric of my tight top. I'm no longer that "transparent" girl who almost disappeared inside my clothes. I feel the SATABILITY of my legs, now STRONG and TONED, and the FIRMNESS of my shoulders. This year, every drop of sweat in the gym has been a signature on my new contract with myself.
I knock his door.
Once opened, his gaze is initially distracted, ready to dismiss a stranger. Then, his eyes meet mine and stop. He slowly moves down my profile, tracing the curves he said I'd never have. I see surprise turn to disbelief as he observes how I've filled those empty spaces with muscle and determination.
I'M NOT HERE TO BEG HIM TO COME BACK.
I'm here for the subtle pleasure of looking into his eyes and remaining silent, letting my body tell him everything he lost the moment he decided to surrender to me.
"Hi," I say with a faint smile, enjoying the way he seems to have lost the ability to speak. "I just wanted to see if you remembered me." ....
