Description

Daphne, a new model, arrives at the hospital to begin her nursing internship. Her instructor, who is supposed to guide her patiently, instead expects her to be fully versed in procedures and equipment from the very first day. She immediately tests Daphne’s knowledge with a few questions before moving on to practical demonstrations. She has Daphne lie down and shows her various resuscitation techniques; then, the instructor lies down herself and asks Daphne to repeat what she has just learned. When the young woman proves unable to keep up, she is sent back to the examination table. She is made to undress, and this time, the instructor decides to charge the defibrillator and deliver a shock to her chest. Daphne’s heart stops, and the CPR becomes real. Chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth (MTM) resuscitation begin immediately. After several cycles, the defibrillator pads are applied to her chest, delivering shocks that cause her body to jolt. Following several more cycles, the young woman regains consciousness.
