Have you ever heard the legend of the Goon Circus? They say this strange circus appears only once a year, and that those who dare to step through its gates never find themselves there entirely by chance.
Beneath its infernal big top, everything is said to have been prepared for a very particular kind of audience. The lights, the music, the laughter echoing from behind the heavy curtains, and the acts unfolding in an atmosphere as fascinating as it is unsettling are said to lure in the weakest of men.
The owner of this circus is said to be none other than Lucy Sanivy, a tamer as fierce as she is merciless.
They say she possesses an uncanny talent for recognizing men who cannot resist their own obsessions for very long, and that she takes particular pleasure in keeping them beneath her lights until they can no longer remember why they came in the first place.
Whenever she finally discovers a curiosity worthy of her attention, she hands it over to Goonie, her favorite jester. Far less delicate, Goonie loves pushing her new creatures further and further, playing with their weaknesses and watching their dignity slowly disappear as the show goes on.
Some claim that the men chosen by Lucy eventually become unable to tell the audience’s laughter from the laughter echoing inside their own heads. Others say that by sunrise, another curiosity has simply joined the ranks of the circus.
Tonight, a place beneath the big top is already waiting for you.
