SRW1032 Phoenix Starr vs Red
Match #3 from the recent London Submission Room live event featured Phoenix Starr (formerly Amber Phoenix) against Red. As a powerlifter, Phoenix Starr is much stronger than she looks (and let's face it, she looks strong). She has also been training hard in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has been growing in confidence. But Red is also strong and loves to wrap her powerful thighs around her opponents to win a submission.
After a short photocall, the Submission Room referee gets the 15-minute match underway. There are some wonderful moments which showcase just how strong Phoenix Starr is. At one point early in the match, Red has Phoenix Starr in a headlock, but Phoenix Starr just lifts Red into the air much to Red's surprise. But Red shows she has a good repertoire of holds and a creative flair. Watch out for the Double-arm choke hold by Red (we're not sure if this has a formal name in BJJ) but the only way out of the hold was for Phoenix Starr to tap out.
