"My New Baby"
The story narrates the journey of affection, trust, and deep rest between two great friends: Helena, a naturally protective and organized woman, and Sofia, a serene, pragmatic woman who has dwarfism. Exhausted from their intense work routine, they purchase a non-refundable vacation package at a luxury resort focused on relaxation, the "Water Refuge". The obstacle arises when they read the fine print: the promotional package strictly requires the presence of a step-mother or stepmother accompanied by an .
In order not to lose their well-deserved rest, Sofia proposes a logical and straightforward solution: utilizing her stature and the absolute trust she has in her friend, she will take on the role of a baby throughout the stay. The agreement is made without any drama or comedy; it is a practical necessity that Sofia embraces to completely free herself from any adult responsibility, leaving all decisions in Helena's safe hands.
The preparation begins with the purchase of a layette focused on comfort and the effectiveness of the disguise. They acquire a sturdy and comfortable stroller, clothes with a childish fit and soft fabrics (such as onesies, little dresses, and elastic-waist pants), baby bottles, and pacifiers (essential to hide part of Sofia's face). Furthermore, they buy diapers, an item treated with total naturalness by both, being fundamental to avoid the use of public restrooms at the resort, which could break the facade.
While preparing Sofia for the trip, dressing her and putting on her diaper with extreme care, Helena experiences the awakening of a deep and affectionate nurturing instinct. The dynamic, previously bureaucratic, transforms. At the resort, the routine is not a stressful performance, but a genuine surrender to care. Helena feels immense pleasure and satisfaction in preparing the bottle, feeding her friend, adjusting her clothes, and looking after her daily comfort. Sofia, protected in her stroller and using her pacifier, allows herself to relax entirely, embraced by her friend's dedication.
The peak of the narrative occurs when an excessively curious guest approaches the stroller in the garden, threatening to lower the canopy and uncover the disguise. Driven by a maternal instinct to protect and needing a quick and unquestionable way out, Helena informs the woman that the baby needs to nurse urgently. She takes Sofia in her arms, covers them both with a blanket creating a privacy barrier, and offers her breast, simulating breastfeeding. The tactic works perfectly, keeping the nosy guest away without causing a fuss.
The story concludes in the comfort of the suite, where the friends share their relief at the success of the plan. They recognize that the trip has become a true emotional refuge. The disguise gave way to a safe and affectionate space, where Helena finds fulfillment in the act of caring and protecting, and Sofia experiences the absolute peace of being cared for with total dedication and affection.
