Vacuuming Apartment hallway - Loud (AUDIO)
This recording is from way back, in 2008 when I was still in college and only over the weekend with my step-mom.
During a brief period of 7 months she lived in a big apartment building, we where at the 4th floor. I usually was
never there when the central entry hallway was vacuumed because they would never do it during the weekend
but during a school break I woke up at about 9AM to the sound of a vacuum cleaner in the hallway. Still in pajama II went to have a look in the hallway and started recording. But it seems I missed the most as very soon the vacuuming stopped. I quickly got dressed and went further down the stairs to have a look and could not see someone in the entry hallway, the sound must be coming from the lower floor with the storage rooms. Downstairs at the storage room floor I could see a vacuum cleaner standing in the middle of the hall and the neighbour from downstairs was there as well, as it seems to be her turn for cleaning the lower floor common parts. I saw here leaving upstairs again into her apartment for a moment and took my chance to do something devious. I wanted her to really vacuum hard the carpets in the entry but how... so I found no better then to spill a bit of flour on the mats and rub it deep in the fibers with my shoes while she was still gone. I hope it would not be too obvious now ... but she would defiantly had to suck the mat very throughly to get it clean. Also there is a little leather sofa-bench in the entry that I think also can be heard vacuuming.
I went back to the 4th floor and started recording for when she came back and oh boy ... how this vacuum echoed through the staircase. So loud. Only for her to disappear with her vacuum into her apartment after finishing. Actually never ever after heard this vacuum again but good thing I made her work that thing so I got at least 1 good recording. I got a sight on the vacuum when I went to have a look downstairs and it was a Vax Cyclone vacuum with 2000W power and 360-Air-Watts suction power (at those days 2000W was very normal, in fact it was not even considered hi power).
