The Quiet House – Regression Stories 1–3
Sarah was used to being the one in control, organised, independent, always handling everything herself. When a sudden storm leaves her stranded in a remote valley, she is taken in by a quiet, soft-spoken community that seems almost too gentle to be real. What begins as simple care slowly becomes something deeper. Soft clothes. Warm bottles. Thick padding. Quiet praise. Day by day the sharp edges of her adult life begin to blur, until the woman who once managed every detail finds herself content to be small, looked after, and completely soft.
Chapter 1 – The Soft Welcome
Sarah’s car is left stranded in a heavy storm. She is guided into a quiet house where the air smells of clean linen and beeswax. Warm milk in a wide-handled mug, soft oversized clothes, a low bed, and a cream rabbit placed beside her pillow. The caretakers speak gently and never hurry her. By the end of the first night the storm is locked outside and something quieter has already begun to settle inside her.
Chapter 2 – The Softening
Morning arrives without the usual sharp urgency. Sarah wakes in a soft one-piece and thick padding that was not there when she went to bed. Bottles replace coffee. Changing-table rituals become part of the day. A pacifier is slipped between her lips during quiet time. Speech grows quieter. Decisions are gently taken out of her hands. The independent part of her watches it all happen and finds fewer and fewer reasons to resist the growing ease of being looked after.
Chapter 3 – The Becoming
The guest room is left behind. Sarah now lives fully in the adult baby wing, resting in a high-sided crib with her rabbit and pacifier. Crawling is encouraged. Walking happens only with both hands held. Adult sentences dissolve. On the final night, the last of her sharp, self-reliant self loosens its grip, and she drifts into rest soft, diapered, and completely content to remain small.
