Nail polish removed and changed
I start with cleaning the old red nail polish that is chippy on my finger beds with nail polish remover and cotton pads. I try to use as little as possible since it is a very strong scent.
My old nail polish gets smudged around my nail beds onto my skin. I pass the cotton ball on my skin at the end as well.
When I open the bottle, there is s a faint chemical scent, and the brush comes out coated in a smooth, burgundy-red, sparkly, & glossy color. As I place the brush at the base of my nail, the polish glides on in a cool, liquid layer. It spreads easily, following the shape of my nail as I guide it in careful strokes.
The polish looks slightly streaky or thin, but as it settles, it evens out into a shiny coat. I have to move steadily but gently, trying not to touch the skin around the nail. Each finger requires a bit of focus, especially on my dominant hand where control from my left hand is trickier.
I also always do a second coat to make the color look deeper and even.
Once all my nails are coated, I wait. The polish slowly dries. During this time, I am trying not to smudge anything.
Finally, when everything is dry, my nails feel slightly thicker and look glossy and vibrant. Every time I polish my nails, I feel like I have added a neat, personal touch to my appearance.
My hands look pleasing to my eyes. I wish nail polish would last forever!
