Too good for the dance competition
The rehearsal room lights cut through the air like blades.
Eleonore and Rose move to the rhythm, lifelong rivals, each determined to outshine the other.
But today, the tension is thick. Rose dances with breathtaking grace, light as air. Eleonore watches her, jealousy burning behind her eyes.
With a cold smile, she grabs a glass full of ice.
As Rose spins flawlessly, Eleonore lets the ice fall onto the polished floor.
A split second.
A dull thud.
Rose slips. Her ankle twists, pain shooting up her leg.
Eleonore rushes to her side, feigning concern.
— “Are you okay?” — she whispers, but her hands tell another story.
As she “helps” her up, she gives the slightest push.
Another cry. Another ankle gone.
Now Eleonore smiles.
Rose lies broken on the floor — her dream shattered.
Eleonore walks away, proud and certain of victory, her steps slow and triumphant.
But Rose doesn’t give up. Tears and fury fill her eyes as she drags herself toward the door.
— “It’s not over,” — she breathes. — “I swear, it’s not over.”
