Description

I am walking to the Monte Carlo, wearing my new black dress and my black knee-high boots. I am talking to my boyfriend on the phone, who won’t tell me where we’re going tonight. I get in the car and turn it over once, but it doesn’t start. I end the conversation, turn the key again, and pump the gas a few times. I try several times, but I’m not too concerned about it as it does give me trouble from time to time. After about a minute with it still not starting, I start to get a tad annoyed. That annoyance turns into desperation, so I really pump the gas, bouncing up and down in the seat, while begging it to start. I call my boyfriend back and tell him that I really want to go on our date, but he might have to pick me up. I explain to him what my car’s doing. He suggests pumping the gas some, but I tell him (in a rather whiny, helpless voice) that I am pumping the gas, but it won’t start. He then suggests talking sweet to it, but I tell him that isn’t working either. To prove my point, I turn the key again, pump the gas, and beg it to start: “Please, come on. Start baby. Start for me baby.†Nothing. I tell him I’ll keep trying for a few minutes and hang up. This is followed by more begging and pleading, and at the end, when it almost catches, I get so frustrated! You’ll have to watch the clip to see if I get it started.
