Description

Newcomer Ayuaska (pronounced I-U) has long since been afraid of the water. Ever since her family’s craft sunk on their emigration from the Dominican Republic and she was trapped underwater by a large barracuda. She thought that living in sunny Florida would help her to overcome the fear and allow her to take full advantage of all that the sunny weather had to offer. She studied hard and earned a college degree while spending a great deal of time studying at the beach and poolside but never gave being submerged a second thought in spite of the fact that she enjoyed it so before the accident. One afternoon, a man approached her and asked that she do some underwater modeling in the shallow end of the pool and she consented but she was unhappy with her breath holding skills. Being the Type “A†personality and perfectionist she is, she decided to overcome these fears and lack of skills by herself to get better and entering a contest for just that. Breath holding. Now she has to get better. She wants it filmed so people know of her struggle. She asks a friend to help and film. When she can’t do well, she asks him to hold her down to make her face her fear. Will she succeed? Will she beat the water or will the water beat her. A great breakout performance by a definite up and comer!
