Allegra's Q18 Blow to Pop Test (MP4)
Allegra destructively tests an Qualatex 18" spray-imprinted balloon, using a combination of lung and foot power. She records the pressure required to inflate and burst this challenging balloon using a pressure sensor that samples 200 times per second. At the outset, poor Allegra's cheeks get an unexpected workout when she unknowingly kinks the tube leading to the balloon. Once she re-arranges things, she is able to put many big breaths into it, before she begins to switch between pumping and blowing, in order to get a better feel for which is more effective as a balloon grows bigger and tighter.
