Description

Allegra is assigned to perform the first tests on a new apparatus, which is a further development of the hot water bottle blowing tubes first tested by Zonah. Allegra's new tool is designed to explore the inflation of a hot water bottle without the use of the check valve. Instead, a manual valve is provided near the mouthpiece, so that the experimenter can try to blow several breaths in succession, and only close the valve is she needs to rest. It also has a place to connect our pressure sensor, so that we can explore whether the check valves we have been using have increased inflation pressure to any significant degree. What makes this experiment even more challenging for Allegra is that this is her first-ever attempt at blowing a hot water bottle. While she is quite surprised at how large it gets before exploding, she demonstrates superb physical and mental stamina, and refuses to be defeated by a piece of rubber.
