Description

I am all dressed up for happy hour, coming up the stairs and calling to my boyfriend to let him know I am (finally!) dressed and ready to go! As I get to the landing, I trip! Argh! My bright red, patent leather 6" stilettos are not to blame... I tripped over a stupid cat toy! The bad news is that I have really hurt myself - my ankle is sprained! I pull my shoe off and rub my foot - it hurts so much! My boyfriend hears the commotion and comes down the steps to find me on the floor, whining about how much my ankle hurts! He helps me get up and I hop on my good foot over to the chair and he props my leg up for me and goes to find something to wrap it with to help the pain and swelling. He finds an elastic bandage and wraps it around and around my injured foot. He wraps it over my pantyhose- there's no time to take them off - this needs to be done quickly! My red painted toenails show through my beige pantyhose. I am really suffering, and I rub my heel and my toes too, pressing here and there around my foot to see exactly where it hurts. I realize I need to find my phone, and I ask for help to hop on that one good foot to find it. My boyfriend obliges, but then after helping me hop a few steps, he realizes that I should be off my feet, and guides me back to the chair while he goes off to find the phone for me. I continue to rub my sprained ankle and wince in pain.
