I start the video completely alone, relaxing on the couch while my friend is busy doing other things. For several minutes, I sit there by myself wearing my mules, casually using my phone and swinging my crossed leg, letting my shoe move naturally with every little motion.

After a while, my friend comes over and joins me on the couch. She is wearing Havaianas flip flops, and soon we are both sitting comfortably with our legs crossed, playing with our phones and casually swinging our feet and shoes. We spend some time together, talk a little, and enjoy a relaxed moment on the couch.

Later, we go back to using our phones while our feet keep moving naturally. Eventually, I get up and leave the couch, while my friend stays behind alone, relaxing and gently dangling and swinging her feet in her flip flops.

My friend came over to my house, and while we were talking, she asked if she could try starting my cars. Of course, I let her try! I sat in the passenger seat filming while she got behind the wheel wearing her white flip flops and showing off her red painted toenails. I didn't give her any instructions about how to start either car or tell her what she should do. I simply stayed quiet and let her figure everything out on her own, completely intuitively and in her own way, while I sat there watching and recording.

She started with my Opala and quickly discovered that my cars are not exactly easy to start. With one foot on the clutch, she kept trying the ignition while pumping the accelerator pedal, but the engine kept giving her a hard time. After several attempts, it would sputter and almost catch, sometimes starting only to run roughly and shut off again. Eventually, she managed to get it running well enough to take it out.

Then we moved on to my Ford, where the whole challenge started again. I still gave her no instructions and simply watched as she tried to figure out how to get it running in her own way. She kept working the pedals and trying the ignition, dealing with the same stubborn starting problems, but she didn't give up and eventually managed to get that one running too before taking it out. My friend definitely got a real introduction to what it is like trying to start my difficult old cars!
