Breath Hold underwater
Lily slowly sinks beneath the surface of the warm bathwater and completely stops breathing.
For the next two hours and thirty-three minutes she remains fully submerged without a single breath of air.
The water presses gently against her closed lips and nostrils, sealing her away from the outside world.
At first her lungs burn with the growing need for oxygen, a sharp and insistent ache.
She feels her heartbeat slow as her body begins to conserve every molecule of remaining air.
A deep, heavy calm spreads through her chest as the initial panic fades into acceptance.
The warm water cradles her body, making the long deprivation feel almost comforting.
Minutes stretch into an endless, silent stretch of time where only the muffled sound of her own pulse exists.
She becomes hyper-aware of every tiny sensation — the soft pressure on her skin, the stillness in her throat.
A soft floating sensation takes over as her mind drifts in the oxygen-starved haze.
Her thoughts grow distant and slow, as if time itself has thickened around her.
The darkness behind her closed eyes feels warm and protective rather than frightening.
She experiences waves of mild dizziness that somehow feel pleasant and weightless.
A deep sense of surrender fills her as she continues to deny her body the air it craves.
The long minutes pass in a strange, dreamlike state where the need to breathe becomes background noise.
Her body remains perfectly still, accepting the prolonged absence of air as if it were natural.
She feels both vulnerable and powerful at the same time — completely cut off yet completely in control.
Toward the later part of the immersion a soft, floating euphoria settles over her mind.
When the full two hours and thirty-three minutes finally end, the first breath she takes feels almost unreal.
The entire experience leaves her calm, quiet, and deeply aware of how long she was able to stay without air.
