Lucy has been left on the floor, covered with a thermal blanket. The nurse has to monitor her parameters. She notices that she's struggling to breathe, foam coming out of her mouth. She cleans her and helps her breathe with the AMBU, but it's not enough. She tries to insert the Guedel valve, but her heart begins to beat irregularly. Several shocks ripple through the girl's body. Her heart stops. The nurse begins CPR, chest compressions, and MTM. After several cycles, she completely undresses the girl and continues with CPR. Lucy doesn't recover, the CPR board is placed under her back, the endotracheal tube is in place. The AED is placed on Lucy's chest and the shocks are delivered automatically, hoping that her heart will return to a regular beat, while the nurse helps her breathe with the AMBU. Eventually, the nurse gives up and leaves Lucy alone on the floor, while the AED continues to deliver its shocks automatically. The girl, however, recovers.

New model Crystal is a friend of Nurse Harper; they completed their nursing residency together. Today, Crystal went to visit her friend at the clinic where she works. They decide to have some fun by brushing up on CPR. Harper begins performing MTM and chest compressions on her friend, until Crystal asks to use the defibrillator. Harper initially places it on her friend's chest, but it's turned off, and the click doesn't trigger any shocks. Crystal asks to turn the defibrillator on to make the game more exciting. So they turn it on and deliver several shocks, Crystal asking for more and more. With the last shock, the girl's heart stops. Harper begins CPR and MTM, but eventually has to call the doctor. Gloria has a very serious heart condition, so she turns to a private facility specializing in cardiac care. She is followed by a cameraman determined to interview her. The video opens with Gloria explaining her condition and how her life has worsened.

The visit begins inside the clinic. Her already serious condition soon worsens further. She is administered oxygen, but it isn't enough. So, as her heart rapidly fails, they decide to intubate her. She is discharged and has to go back to the hospital to take a test. She comes back after a few days and starts the test. After the first visit she is connected to the monitor. After a few minutes the girl's heart goes back into tachycardia. She has to be helped to breathe, so the AMBU is used to help her. Soon the rhythm becomes a bad arrhythmia until it turns into fibrillation. The doctors immediately begin resuscitation, with CPR, chest compressions and AMBU bagging. The bra is removed and the defibrillator paddles are placed on Amy's chest. The shocks shake her body, but they have no effect. It's a long night in the ER. Harper arrived hours earlier, she wasn't feeling well. The doctors examined the girl, they realized that her heart was failing. She was attached to a monitor and soon intubated. Now she has the endotracheal tube inserted, she is in cardiac arrest, her heart in asystole. The nurse continues to press on her chest waiting for a shockable rhythm. Soon the monitor is heard beeping more insistently, it's the signal. The gel is put on the paddles, they are placed on the chest and the first shock shakes Harper's body. There will be more shocks, but no result. More cycles of CPR, AMBU bagging, without success. Then the heartbeat returns, the efforts have been successful. Harper moves, but her heart is unstable. Then she goes into cardiac arrest again. The doctor presses on the girl's chest, the shocks still shake her body in that long night in the ER. Still her heart in asystole, the efforts of the rescuers continue, tireless. And finally a final shock, more compressions, and the monitor gives that signal that everyone was waiting for. The girl recovers.

Nurse Paige is cleaning up the emergency room after a rather difficult operation. While tidying up the equipment, she stops in front of the defibrillator and starts playing with the various buttons, before putting the paddles back in their place. Then she lifts her gown and listens to her heartbeat through the stethoscope. More and more excited in playing with this equipment, she takes the paddles and activates the defibrillator. She places it on her chest and gives a first shock. Then she proceeds with a second shock.
The doctor, no longer seeing the nurse, enters the room and finds her lying on the bed. She realizes that her vital signs are absent, so she connects her to the monitor and begins cardiac massage. After a few cycles of CPR, she places the paddles of the defibrillator on her chest and proceeds with various shocks. Paige does not recover and the CPR cycles continue. After several cycles and several shocks, the girl recovers.
