TapLab28 Lara the Warrior vs Frank & Marek
This was originally filmed as a custom… but there was NO WAY I was going to hide this match from the rest of you.
Honestly, this might be the video I’m happiest about filming this entire year.
Lara the Warrior – 171 cm / 70 kg
Frank - 183 cm/85 kg
Marek - 160cm / 60 kg
And yes.
Both of them against me. At the same time.
Someone might look at their measurements and argue that technically this is more like one and a half men against Lara.
I strongly disagree.
There are TWO of them. I counted. ;-)
And there is one more important detail: this was filmed only eight months after my ACL reconstruction.
So once you’ve watched it, you can judge for yourself how well you think that knee has recovered.
This match felt completely different from most of the fights I film.
Usually I feel like I have a certain amount of control over what is happening. I can think ahead, take care of my opponent, change positions, attack from different angles and deliberately keep the wrestling moving so the video stays exciting rather than becoming repetitive.
Here?
I had absolutely NO idea what was going to happen.
The only thing I knew beforehand was that this was going to be brutally hard work.
And it was.
There were probably two or three moments where I genuinely thought:
“Oh my God. I can’t do this anymore.”
My muscles were exhausted, my throat was dry and I was fighting for every bit of energy I had left. Getting stuck underneath an opponent who weighs around as much as you do is already exhausting — especially when you barely have enough room to properly expand your chest and catch your breath.
And then you remember there’s ANOTHER opponent waiting for you.
That feeling when your muscles are telling you they’re finished, your breathing is struggling to catch up and you still somehow have to find another gear…
I got a very good reminder of what some less experienced wrestlers probably feel like when they fight ME. ;-)
Every time I thought my tank was finally empty, though, I somehow managed to collect myself and keep fighting.
And THAT is probably why I love this video so much.
I wasn’t carefully creating a nice wrestling match here. I wasn’t comfortably controlling everything that happened.
I was fighting.
I squeezed absolutely everything I could out of myself, and eight months after ACL surgery, getting through a challenge like this was an incredible experience for me.
It was exhausting, unpredictable and occasionally absolutely miserable.
And I LOVED it.
There is also one little agreement waiting at the end.
If I manage to WIN this madness, these two had better start worrying, because after everything they put me through, I am going to enjoy my punishment round VERY sincerely. They will have earned every second of it.
But if they beat me?
Fine.
Then I’ll accept that THEY earned the right to give Lara the punishment round instead.
Fair is fair. ;-)
And probably the deepest I’ve had to dig in any match I filmed last years
This one was a RIDE.
