Description

Amy is in a clinic specializing in medical experiments. She has given consent to perform an experiment directly on her body. The nurse and doctor place electrodes on the girl's chest and attach her to the monitor, so the actual experiment can begin. After a few minutes, the girl's heart becomes unstable and her heart rate accelerates. This turns into fibrillation, which cannot be reversed. Thus, after a few convulsions, the girl's heart goes into cardiac arrest. The paramedics begin CPR, and the shocks from the defibrillator have no effect. After several cycles, the decision is made to insert a Guelph device and continue CPR. Amy's heart receives numerous shocks from the defibrillator, throbbing several times, but with no response. A CPR board is placed under her back to facilitate chest compressions. The AMBU bags cause Amy's stomach and chest to rise. After several more cycles, she finally recovers.
