clip request: Scene 1 - Mary Jane flats
You are going to be substituting this week for Miss Tracey who has been sent away on administrative leave. You are preparing and getting yourself organized for the week ahead including checking your emails because you are supposed to receive a lesson plan for the week ahead from Miss Tracey. You are eating a banana while you organize and set up your laptop to check your emails. Before you have a chance to open the files from Miss Tracy, your phone rings across the room and you get up to get it. You place the banana on the table and get up to get your phone.
It is the school calling to confirm you are still going to be looking after Miss Tracey's class this week.
You will then watch Miss Tracy's video.
You will be very curious and confused and think Miss Tracey is a bit silly for what she thinks. You dont believe the banana spirits are real.
You will close your laptop and get up to leave and then accidentally step on and slip on the banana peel that you threw.
Scene 2 - Green flats
You are about to leave in the morning for your first day substituting. There is a banana on the counter and you accidentally knock it off when you are grabbing your bag. It lands on the floor and you notice it and laugh and go to pick it up. But as you bend down to pick it up, you think about the video that Miss Tracey sent you and the warning. You think it is a bunch of nonsense. You then intentionally stand on and squish the banana deliberately, aggressively at first to feel that very satisfying initial crack and squish, before becoming a little more gentle.
The idea is that you don't believe in the banana spirits that Miss Tracey has warned you about. But stepping on bananas is what releases the spirits.
Scene 3High heels (lower heels)
The scene will begin with you greeting the class and saying that you will be substituting for the week ahead. You can be very Stern and unexpressive and unimpressed in order to establish your authority. If you have a ruler or a pointer stick that would be an excellent prop to use.
You can then make eye contact with the camera as if it is one of the students, because you noticed that student is wearing a shirt with monk on it. You are surprised and its cute. You walk up and get very close and say "i like your shirt. The monk are cute, and I see you have brought bananas for lunch. 4 bananas!? Wow you must be hungry. I hope you will share with me. They told me you are Miss Traceys favorite student, we won't have any problems with those bananas right?". You can be very expressive and a little extraverted knowing you are embarrassing the student.
The scene can then transition to in the middle of a test that they are taking and instructing that they need to be quiet and do their work. You will be walking around and then step on a big bright yellow banana that was on the floor. It will Crunch and squish under your shoe and you will gasp and freeze in place. You will be visibly upset and frustrated but still stay standing on the banana. You will question what happened and how a banana ended up on the floor. You again can reiterate that this is not Miss Tracey's class and you did not want to play these silly games. You can then Squish and crush the banana around and frustration as you single in on the student you think left the banana. You tell them that they will have detention with you after class and you will have to clean her shoes.
Scene 4
The scene will start with your shoes on the table ready for the student to clean. You will then walk into the classroom eating a banana. You will say that you found it on the desk in the teacher's lounge and figured it came from somebody leaving bananas everywhere. Implying that it was from the student.
You will then tell the student to bring out his banan left. And you can be very intimidating and teasing and put them on the ground and walk around pretending to almost step on them. And then you finally will step on them when you are walking. You are doing it intentionally so that he cannot surprise you with them later. You say you don't care about bananas.
You can then bend down and pick up the banana peels and tell the student that in addition to her shoes they also have to clean the floor. You can act sarcastic and surprised and say "oops! I stepped on all these bananas. It was so slippery. I will pick up the banana peels, and you can clean the floor" . You can laugh and then walk away with the banana peels dangling in your hands holding by the stems.
Scene 5 High heels (red bottom)
The day is over. You are home and walk in the door after your first day wearing the high heels with the red bottoms. (The student was cleaning your brown flats and other high heels). You will walk in and comment about the good fun day and that you don't think you will have any problems with bananas tomorrow at school.
What you will not notice is that there are several banana peels littered on the floor, placed perfectly cartoon style. There will be 3 peels and then 1 whole banana. The peels will be along the path you walk and you come very close to stepping on them but do not. Until you step on the full banana. Perhaps this could be very slippery. I do not want you to hurt yourself so please do not yourself to fall. You can then be angry and frustrated and wonder "who left this fucking banana for me... my own home!?"
You will get up to clean the banana you stepped on and will be holding the squished one when you walk by the stem. You will not notice the other banana peels that are on the ground and then accidentally naturally step on those also. It will be very slippery but natural. I want you to be very annoyed and surprised, if you could slide on the peels and your voice change tone when you are talking that is a lot of fun hehe.
You will then remember the video that Miss Tracy sent you. You will get up and open it again. ( I will send you a video in the drive to open for this part). It will be as if you did not finish listening to the first video entirely and there was more to hear.. Miss Traceys voice will come back with one other very important warning that she forgot to mention earlier.
"I almost forgot. This is very important. If you do see a whole banana on the ground, please do not step on it!!! That's where I went wrong. Oops. That is how they infect YOUR spirit! After you step on them, there is nothing you can do. Please be safe. It's so easy to slip. Oh no! I'm in trouble! I really have to go!!"
This is where I want to give you some creative freedom to figure out how Princess Diana would react in this situation now that you have realized the banana Spirits are real! Perhaps you could say how much you hate how slippery banana peels are. You can decide how you close out the final scene if you are very scared of the bananas or if you also try to step on them again.
At the end you realize Miss Tracy was right all along about the banana spirits. And that maybe she isn't crazy after all. But now you don't know what to do going forward with your spirit infected by the bananas.
