Jane’s VW Polo Breakdown: Starts, Splutters, Stalls
Jane’s original VW Polo has left her stranded at the roadside, and it’s clear from the opening moments that this is going to be a struggle. From outside, you can hear the engine cranking and spluttering as Jane pumps the accelerator, with puffs of smoke billowing from the exhaust.
Inside, she pleads with the stubborn Polo to start, while close-ups capture her feet working the pedal. She’s wearing unusual white cotton-mesh shoes, their open pattern giving a glimpse of her French-pedicured toes.
The engine eventually catches, but it refuses to keep running. As the Polo splutters and falters again, Jane’s roadside troubles look far from over—and calling for help may be her only option.
