This was a pretty extreme stunt: I had both my hands and feet cuffed behind a pole—with my hands cuffed behind my back and raised above my head—and the key was secured to the handcuff chain with a timer lock. I even ran into a passerby; it was a close call that could have resulted in total social humiliation. I had just finished cuffing my feet behind the pole when I heard the sound of an e-scooter. It was the middle of the night, and the rider had their lights off and the motor was incredibly quiet; I didn't spot them until they were practically right in front of me—even though I had a fill light on. I was so startled I scrambled to hide in my car. It was a good thing I’d only cuffed my feet; if I’d cuffed my hands too, I would’ve been absolutely screwed—stuck there on display for anyone to see until the timer ran out. In that position, there was zero chance of escape—I couldn't even move, let alone get free. After the passerby left, I was so caught up in the thrill that I didn't even stop to consider whether they might come back; I just set the timer for three minutes and cuffed myself fully to the pole again. Looking back now, that was incredibly reckless.
